I suppose the setting for this game could be an Alcatraz-type facility isolated in the middle of no where, the largest facility by far, and surrounding it the accumulation of sand and soil forming miniature reefs, a variant of the kelp forest, probably minimal thermal activity unless an underwater volcano-zone would be added, perhaps being the primary power supplier for the subject facility.
The way I see it is she’s led to another phasegate, and sent through by the Architects - the title card appears of whatever this third game is called.Īfter this, I’m honestly not sure. Nonetheless, Robin takes the offer, her PDA being updated into a newer, Architect version of itself. This paves a way for both Alan and the superior Architect to telepathically communicate with Robin while she is in the planet, creating scenarios such as Robin briefly blocking the signal to the other Architect, allowing Alan to contact her and potentially remotely allow her access to unauthorised areas in the remote facility. The Architect informs Robin that if she retrieves a sample of Enzyme 42 for the Architect world, and destroys the last surviving variant of the bacterium, he will consider relieving Alan of recalibration and reinstitution. It can be revealed later that it was actually the Architect’s intention to produce a more lethal version of the Kharaa in order to maintain power over “uncleansed” worlds (worlds untouched by the Architects). The Architect is hesitant, claiming their attempts to produce Enzyme 42 had been ultimately unsuccessful, and not only that, but a potentially catastrophic strain of the bacterium was being stored at a remote location in the middle of the ocean, classified and authorised only to the highest personnel. She claims 4546B is free of the Kharaa bacterium, and there is an enzyme there waiting for them. Alan is restrained, to Robin’s dismay, and so she attempts futilely to argue for his freedom.
So the idea is that following Robin and Alan’s arrival at the Architect homeworld, they’re brought to dock in a nearby tower for inspection and admission.Īlan is greeted by one of his superiors, who informs them the population has declined rapidly and it is Alan’s fault.
